I remember what it was like when I first found out I was pregnant with my second child. I was scared! I worried about the adjustment my first child would have, if I would be able to balance the infant/toddler workload. I worried about what my body would look like after having a second child, the expenses that would come with having a second child. If you are pregnant with your second child, you are not crazy! All the worries you are having, are completely normal! As moms, we want to be the very best for each of our children. So naturally we stress because new territory brings fear and doubt.
Having my second child turned out to be not as crazy as I had thought it was going to be. I was already living the mom life, with nap and bedtime routines. The “ABC’s”, “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” were already my top songs on my playlist and I was a pro at peek-a-boo and hide-n-seek. Adding my second son into the mix was quite easy because I was already living the life with my first child. Only now we were doing it with a sidekick.
I’ve learned a lot from my second child. He’s taught me to relax more, to be a better mom and that I’m capable of much more than I give myself credit for. Not only did I learn a thing or two from my second but he taught my first child about love in a way I could never have. The friendship they share is deeper then I could ever imagine. My oldest had to learn to share, what it’s like to be a leader and to be a good one. Things he might have never learned if it weren’t for my second child.
When Jade inquired me for her maternity photos for her second child, I was over joyed when they picked my package that offers both a maternity and newborn session. I was so excited to be the one to tell their infant/toddler life balance story for them. As moms, sometimes its hard for us to see the bigger picture when we’re in the everyday grind. So for me as a photographer, I try to tell the bigger picture with the photos I capture. I find great fulfillment in being able to share the love that comes from having a second child. As having mine has bought so many amazing experiences to our family’s lives. I’m so happy I got to shoot Jade and Zach’s beautiful family. I look forward to growing with them and capturing the bond that these two sweet girls will have as they grow into smart, talented young ladies! I know making a decision about who to have photograph your babies comes with a lot of trust. Jade and Zach, thank you so much for trusting me with your girls!
If you’re interested in having a maternity and newborn session with me, please feel free to contact me!
As a photographer I have always been obsessed with capturing my boys in their world. As they and my business have grown, I find myself taking less pictures of them each year. This year I really want to get back to what started me on my journey of photography, my boys!
For those that don’t know, my youngest, Liam who is eight LOVES to cook. Since he could hold a whisk in his hand, he’s wanted to be a chef. Liam has a bookshelf full of cookbooks that he often reads to bed. Cooking is his thing! So when we put on the calendar that we were going to bake Blueberry Muffins from one of his cookbooks, I couldn’t resist the photo opportunity to capture him in his element!
Liam is an early riser like myself. He couldn’t wait to get to cooking. He patiently waited as I finished my coffee and tidied the kitchen so he could get to work. After he began the process of combining all the ingredients to his muffins, he realized he had forgotten an important detail… he needed his chef attire. So he quickly changed. Feeling mighty proud of his new look he jumped right back into what he was working on. It was the cutest thing!
I found much joy in watching him take the lead. He needed very little guidance or help from me. This little boy blows me away and his blueberry muffins were fantastic. You can ask our neighbors as he delivered some to their family as well. I love being this kid’s mom!
If you’d like to have a lifestyle session with your child, please feel free to contact me as this is something I’m very passionate about! Memories like this last a lifetime! I’m so glad I pulled my camera out to document it!
As women, society puts so much pressure on us about body image and aging. Women not only face pressures of being career women and raising a family, but we also have pressures of maintaining our youthful looks of our 20’s. As aging women we are constantly pressured with ads and media to get botox, plastic surgery, and the latest slimming diet pill. It is no wonder that when we hit our 40’s we’re questioning and doubting ourselves whether we could be better, thinner, more youthful, prettier, etc.
Getting older should be a celebration! A celebration of surviving all life’s pressures thrown at us thus far. When we look at ourselves in the mirror we should not be wishing we looked like we did in our 20’s. We are women at nearly 40, not little girls anymore. A sense of maturity comes with that. We should embrace it! Be proud of it! We’ve earned it!
When Mia inquired about doing a celebration session with me for her 45th birthday I was ecstatic!
Mia is a mother, nurse and teacher. She gives daily to others. So I made it my goal to give back to her by showcasing her beauty, her spunk and elegance of aging through my photo session with her! I enjoyed this shoot so much! For anyone interested in celebrating your age, please feel free to contact me!
Thank you Mia for inspiring not only me but other women to embrace their age and to have fun doing so!
When I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a princess in a big magical world. A princess that would create a world of kindness, beauty, and joy.
When River and I did her fairy-tale session, so many memories of my own self came rushing to my mind. Memories of innocents and wonder. Watching River twirl, dance, and stop to smell the roses at the Lord Mansion reminded me that life’s most precious moments are not only found in a giant world of make believe, but that if you take a moment to live bigger than yourself anything is possible!
While exploring the Yashiro Japanese Garden, River had the most amazing idea to crown herself from princess to Queen. To watch her place the crown on her head and see her light up with joy made the end to our our session magical!
It’s moments like this that make being a photographer feel so rewarding. I believe her fairy-tale session will stay with her forever. She will look back on this day and remember the magic she created not only for herself but for me as well!
This beautiful, talented and smart girl has so much to offer the world! I can’t wait to see what she does with her gifts!
If you’d like to set up a fairy-tale session for your child, please feel free to contact me and set up a consultation to bring their vision to life!

I can not begin to explain how thankful I am for each and every one of you. In 2012 I started Vibrant Lens Photography and never thought or dreamed that it would still be going strong into 2020.
Many of you have been with me since the beginning! I can not thank you enough for trusting, growing and supporting me along my journey as a photographer! 2019 was one of the best years I’ve had. Not only did i work with returning clients but I connected with many new couples and families in ways I have not before. I pushed myself and honed in on photography skills that I never thought I would understand… let alone be able to do.
I look forward to continuing to grow and capture your many amazing moments in 2020! Here is a look back at some of my favorite moments of 2019! Cheers to looking forward to another great year!
I was ecstatic when my amazing hairstylist told me she wanted head-shots to celebrate her 2nd year in business. I have photographed Brittney’s beautiful family many times. She is a strong, loyal and driven person. She’s an amazing mother to, two beautiful, smart and well-mannered girls and a wife who shares a beautiful love and friendship with her husband.
As a Shelton hairstylist, Brittney works hard to make every woman that sits in her chair feel and look their best. For Christmas I got my mother a full-service treatment from her. I can’t begin to explain the emotion my mother felt when she saw her hair for the first time. I can’t thank Brittney enough for that day. I highly recommend her for any hair services you may be interested in.
I knew when I photographed Brittney, I wanted all that she is to shine through. I was on a mission to have the world see the beautiful person I do.
With Brittney’s strong and driven personality, I told her to meet me in Downtown Olympia. Being an Olympia photographer, I knew the street art was perfect for that edgy and vibrant vibe I wanted to give to her photos. She totally rocked this with her fierce personality!
To showcase her Motherly side, I went for a softer look. As an Olympia photographer, I knew using the fresh and airy scenery that Port Plaza provides, combined with her elegance and beauty would be all that I was looking for.
Brittney was so confident and fun to work with during her Portrait Session and I truly think you can tell in her images.

This post is to all my 2016 clients! I am so grateful for you amazing people! Thank you for trusting me to capture milestones, events, and moments in your lives. It’s brought me so much joy to be apart of so many amazing moments. Below are some of my favorites throughout the year.
One of the best things about being a photographer is all of the awesome people that come into your life. These clients made it possible for me to take a big leap and grow in the direction I want to take my business. I will forever be grateful.
Woo, I can’t believe this year is already gone. It’s been a fun one for me! Thank you so much for working with, following along on Instagram and Facebook, and just generally being a part of my life and work!
And because I really can’t say it enough, thanks 2016, you were a blast!
At the end of July, I had the pleasure of shooting Breanne and Dustin’s wedding at the Titlow Lodge located in Tacoma. This location is perfect for the bride looking for a rustic yet classy venue. Breanne’s mother designed their wedding day so perfectly, making sure every detail was accounted for. From the timeline of the event, to the decor of the venue and the overall flow of their wedding day, Cynthia made sure everything was beautifully planned with TLC.
One of my favorite moments was during Breanne and Dustin’s First Look. Before Breanne came out for their special moment, I had the pleasure of listening to Dustin tell the story of how they first fell in love. The words that this man spoke of her were so beautiful. I was so touched by what he had to say. The love in their eyes once they saw each other for the first time was so strong. It was just a beautiful moment to witness.
Another favorite moment for me, was when Breanne and her father began the walk down the aisle. During this moment, as my camera focus fell on Dustin for his first expression, I witnessed Breanne and Dustin’s mother’s share a quick but special moment between the two of them with the squeezing of each other’s hands to express the joining of their families becoming one. It’s subtle moments like these that contribute to the love I have for photography.
Breanne and Dustin said their I Do’s surrounded by family and friends. During their ceremony, I heard the sweet sounds of Kyle Baxter and Breanne’s brother, Garrett Starks as they performed a beautiful piece for their guests to enjoy. The voice on Kyle Baxter was just beautiful! Breanne and Dustin’s wedding day was full of love, laughter and beauty! I can’t begin to express how much I enjoyed capturing their special day for them. Without further ado, here are some of my favorites from their wedding day.
I’ve been photographing Daniel and Kathryn’s family for three years now. I feel honored to say I’ve had the pleasure of capturing some of their most memorable moments, including Daniel’s proposal to Kat and their wedding. Out of all their memorable milestones in their life together, Kathryn’s Maternity Session is beyond one of my favorite sessions! There’s just something about pregnancy that I love and Kat’s just beautiful with her baby belly.
Kathryn met at my place to get her hair and make-up done by one of my favorite Olympia Make-Up Artists, Kami Bruland. This woman is super talented with a make-up brush. Kami did an amazing job adding to Kat’s already beautiful mommy glow.
We started Kathryn’s maternity session downtown at Percival Landing in Olympia. Knowing that baby Joey’s nursery theme is nautical, I thought this location would be a perfect fit to start our morning off. After a few poses here we headed to Priest Point Park. This is where Kat changed into her gorgeous Lace/Chiffon Maternity Gown by BoutiqueByAgnes. What a beautiful combination. I was in photographer bliss.
With crazy schedules, Daniel and Drake were unable to make this maternity session. So we planned a mini maternity session for the 3 (almost 4) of them in Lynwood. Just an all-around beautiful day!
Here are some of my favorites from their Maternity Session. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
